Matthew Trumbull

THE ZEBRA SHIRT OF LONELY CHILDREN

Moving seamlessly between heartbreakingly funny and simply heartbreaking, the play journeys through the strange bonding days between Trumbull’s cancer-stricken 55-year-old father, an unassuming Minnesota engineer who takes his belief in usefulness above and beyond; and Trumbull, a New York City actor with a slew of day jobs both brief and bizarre.

MATTHEW TRUMBULL – Winner, FringeNYC Award for Overall Excellence, Solo Performance for THE ZEBRA SHIRT OF LONELY CHILDREN at the 2012 NY Intl. Fringe Festival (“Four Stars--Masterful!” TimeOut NY). It was his playwriting and solo performance debut. Other writing credits include “Soundtrack Series” in May 2011, a 2012 piece for Backstage on Denis O'Hare, and numerous reviews for nytheatre.com, who put him on their People of the Year list in 2009.
