A Fire as Bright as Heaven

Tim Collins is a solo performer, stand-up comic, actor, and writer. He was selected for the 15 Minute Playwriting Festival 2002-2005, was a featured performer at the 24th Annual Sharing The Fire National Storytelling Conference, was selected for the 12th Annual International NYC Fringe Festival, was selected to perform in the 2nd Annual Dialogue ONE Solo Theater Festival at Williams College, where Tim won the “Best Solo Performance” award. He was also nominated for a 2009 Kevin Kline Award. Tim is also a recipient of the Wallis Foundation Grant, received a commission from The Center For Cultural Exchange, and has worked as Artist-in-Residence at Bates College and Thomas College. Currently, Tim is touring several one-man shows, including THE SCRIPT, an educational show confronting Dating Violence and Sexual Assault, and STANDING BY/STANDING UP<, a show about Bullying and Violence Prevention, aimed at high school students./p>

... I was born in Oneida, New York (Upstate!), and was raised in Sherrill, New York. I obtained my degree in Theater/Solo Performance at Marlboro College (Marlboro, VT), and I trained as an actor at Arts Ed. UK, London. I've been touring one-man shows since I graduated from college (2002), and my focus is to continue to create educational, activist solo theater pieces that address critical social issues (Violence Prevention, Tolerance, etc.), in addition to more "traditional" one-man shows, which I'll bring to the world of NYC Indie Theater.
