Eddie Antar
Eddie Antar began his career in theater working with the Indie theater company The Art & Work Ensemble, appearing in many of it's productions including Joseph Heller's WE BOMBED IN NEW HAVEN, and a stage adaptation of Dorothy Parker's THE BIG BLOND. Theater studies include HB Studios and The Gene Frankel Theater Workshop. Gene was a major contributor to his love for honest acting and theater.
Currently, Eddie devotes his time to writing. He is a member Playwright of The Workshop Theatre Company in New York City. His body of work includes twelve full length plays and many, many one acts.
His full length play The Navigator received a full production in the fall of 2010, produced by The Workshop Theater and was honored with 8 New York Innovative Theater Awards nominations, including Outstanding Script and Outstanding Production. It was the most nominated show in at the 2011 NYITAs.The production won awards for Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Lighting Design.
Eddie's latest completed full length, entitled Papi/Flaco, is a bilingual tale that takes place in Inwood, a section of Northern Manhattan, and tells the story of a Dominican father/manager of a little league team, and his son, who plays on that team. It is an exploration of cultural mores of the Latino community, specifically as it refers to the roles of men and women.
Eddie also coaches young actors. He's had success in helping many, many young actors gain admissions into some of the most prestigious programs.
