Excerpt from Transylvania Beach, Kentucky
We hear footsteps run across the stage, and BROOKLYN screams while pointing her flashlight in the direction of the footsteps.
BROOKLYN
What the hell was that?
HOUSTON
Nervous. Hell if I know…shit there it goes again….what the fucking fuck Brooklyn I thought you killt this guy?!
We continue to hear footsteps all around the stage, but we see no one. The footsteps go up and down the aisles and underneath the audience members’ chairs. THE SHAPE explores the space throughout the rest.
BROOKLYN
I thought I did! I guess I didn’t kill him as much as I thought I did…
HOUSTON
Dammit Brooklyn, you can’t even kill someone right. WHAT IS MAKING THAT SOUND?!?!
BROOKLYN
Something is in this house with us…
HOUSTON
Shutup and keep looking.
BROOKLYN
Ok… Hey,
Out to the empty space
Olly Olly Oxen Free!
HOUSTON
Shines light onto BROOKLYN. Sometimes, your inability to function as a human being fascinates me. You’re the kinda child George W. Bush was trying to leave behind …
We hear a loud thud as THE SHAPE hits her and HOUSTON’S flashlight turns off as she hits the floor
BROOKLYN
Houston? Where’d you go?
Shines flashlight on her face like she’s telling a scary story. Oh just fucking knock me out already.
Another loud thud as THE SHAPE strikes her, and she hits the ground the same time as her flashlight turns off.
THE SHAPE
Muahahhahahaha
